Over the years, The Piano Gal Shop has done dozens of custom painted pianos for resale and as commissioned work for specific clients. These custom pianos are truly functional art. Pianos that are still in good working order, but have aesthetic issues, such as sun damage, water damage, dings and scratches, or are simply dated are great candidates for customizing.
The pianos are first cleaned, regulated, and tuned. Then, each piano is hand painted with great care by taking apart all removable parts. Pedals and other hardware are polished, as well. Sometimes they are a solid color. Some clients, however, want something more artistic, so hand painting is done for unique pattern work. The pianos are given new hardware, as well as a new padded, upholstered bench.
